About the role
The Aboriginal Health Worker leads coordination of the Billabong BBQ and FoodShare programs across Melbourne's north and west, delivering weekly community gatherings for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and supporting cultural connection through meals, engagement, and access to health and welfare services.
This role is based across the Cities of Yarra and Maribyrnong.

Your duties include:
- Lead the coordination of events for culturally significant days with the assistance of the Aboriginal Health Team
- Lead the coordination of the weekly Billabong BBQ and Foodshare programs
- Provide culturally responsive care coordination and liaise with DFFH, housing, external and internal programs and services on client's behalf
- Assist cohealth clients with appointments when required and advocate for and provide cultural supports

Our ideal candidate:
- Experience working with Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander community in the health sector
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Current Level 2 First Aid certificate, including CPR or willingness to complete
